Mission/Vision/Goals Statement

MISSION STATEMENT:
To enhance student success and retention through student-centered programs, services, and assessment.
VISION STATEMENT:
To lead in programs, services, and assessment practices that promote student learning, development, persistence, connection, and satisfaction.
To collaborate within and beyond the campus community to enhance student learning, development, persistence, connection, and satisfaction.
To foster a campus environment that is culturally responsive and sensitive to a community that respects and celebrates diversity.
DIVISION GOALS:
Division Goal 1
In conjunction with Student Affairs, schools, and colleges, coordinate college preparation and promote undergraduate development from pre-college through graduate school toward the goal of student self-advocacy.
Division Goal 2
Demonstrate and support program models that promote the value of personal, social and educational development of students in the University and extended community.
Division Goal 3
Serve as a resource in promoting an inclusive learning environment by incorporating Universal Design in the academic, programmatic, technological and architectural access of the entire campus community.
Division Goal 4
Model best assessment practices by evaluating the effectiveness of Division programs and services in terms of student success.
Division Goal 5
Promote collaboration among the Division and all units of the University toward meeting institution-wide goals.
Division Goal 6
Advance our retention strategies through:
the acquisition of outside resources for research and innovation;
the development of programs to prevent students from becoming at risk; and
the creation of programs for populations not yet served.
Division Goal 7
Support Division members in innovations, research presentations and publications to
promote Syracuse University as a leader in student success, retention research, and best practices.
Division Goal 8
Create and sustain a culture of caring and service among current and future alumni.
